Bourns Expands Automotive-Grade AEC-Q200 High Isolation Flyback Transformer Line

Bourns, Inc. has unveiled the Model HVMA03F40C-ST10S, a new addition to its automotive-grade, AEC-Q200-compliant flyback transformer line. Designed to deliver high power density and efficiency in a compact form factor, this transformer addresses the growing demands of automotive, industrial, and energy storage applications.

The HVMA transformer offers exceptional versatility, making it an ideal choice for electric vehicles, transistor gate drives, high-voltage battery management systems, and isolated power solutions in hybrid vehicles. It is also well-suited for supporting high-frequency Silicon Carbide (SiC), Gallium Nitride (GaN), and IGBT switching elements in wide bandgap designs.

Engineered with advanced magnetic architectures, the Model HVMA03F40C-ST10S combines superior mechanical and electrical design to meet IEC standards for isolation and creepage/clearance distances. This state-of-the-art design enhances system performance and safety while maintaining a compact footprint.

Key features include a 10 mm creepage surface-mount package, support for working voltages up to 900 V, and compatibility with switching frequencies from 100 kHz to 400 kHz. With a 3-watt power rating and an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +155 °C, the transformer provides flexibility for both existing and next-generation platform designs.

The Model HVMA03F40C-ST10S is available now and complies with RoHS and REACH standards.
